Division 20 Member Awards: Baltes Distinguished Research Achievement

 


 


APA Division 20 invites applications for the Baltes Distinguished Research Achievement Award.

The Baltes Distinguished Research Achievement (DRA) Award, sponsored by the Margret M. and Paul B. Baltes Foundation, is Division 20’s most prestigious award. It has been established to honor researchers with distinguished careers that have featured exceptional theoretical and empirical contributions to the psychological science of aging.

THE AWARD

The recipient will be presented with a plaque and a cash award of $5,000 at the annual APA convention in the year in which the award was made. The recipient will deliver the Baltes DRA Award Address at the convention the following year.

NOMINATION PROCESS

A current CV of the nominee should be submitted with a letter of nomination describing the nature and significance of the nominee’s research accomplishments (self-nominations are encouraged). Electronic copies should be submitted by May 21, 2009 to Dr. Becca Levy at becca.levy@yale.edu (please use the header “D20 BALTES DRA AWARD NOMINATION”).

SELECTION

Nominees will be reviewed by a committee of past-presidents, as well as past and present members of the Division Executive Committee.
