The Education Committee's Internet page is growing! Look at http://www.iog.wayne.edu/apadiv20/apadiv20.htm for examples of graduate and undergrad syllabi and available textbooks. The page also includes a member data base through which you can scan to find colleagues with similar interests or with expertise you need to tap. The page includes instructions for contributing syllabi and text listings as well as adding your information to the member data base. Please submit your syllabi, especially for graduate-level courses. Construction of a list of instructional videos is underway--send your suggestions for effective classroom videos (including title, key words descriptive of content if not evident from the title, distributor, and running time) to Kristi Multhaup at kristi@acpub.duke.edu.

The Education Committee will continue the tradition of presenting a symposium on "Innovative Approaches to Teaching Adult Development and Aging" at the upcoming convention in Toronto. The session is scheduled for Sunday, August 11 at 4:00 in room 103A of the Convention Centre. Presenters and their topics include Rick Scheidt, "Dithering Devices: 'Shaky' Techniques for ADA;" Karen Fingerman & Rosanna Bertrand, "Parallel Lives: Exercises for Classes Covering Child and ADA;" Leslie Frazier, "What Is 'Quality of Life'?: Reframing Health/Illness in ADA Courses;" Rosemary Blieszner, "Resources and Strategies for Teaching Family Gerontology Topics;" and Lisa McGuire & Melissa Zwahr, "Tying It All Together: Comprehensive Projects in ADA Courses."
