Retirement Research
Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Award in the Psychology of Aging
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:
Applications are due May 21, 2009 (Electronic submission only)
APA Division 20 invites applications
for the Retirement Research
Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Award.
The recipient of the award receives a cash award as well as recognition
at
the annual meeting of the Division of Adult Development and Aging.
Candidates are welcome from any area of the psychology of aging and
adult development. Candidates must have completed or expect to complete
their doctoral (NOT Masters) dissertation between January 1, 2008 and
May 31, 2009.
Please note that because this award is for doctoral dissertations (NOT
master’s theses) "completed and accepted" during this period, the
strong preference is for completion prior to submitting an application
for the RRF Doctoral Dissertation Award. People who are planning to
finish their doctoral dissertations AFTER May 31, 2009 should wait
until NEXT year to submit applications.
Submit, electronically (preferably bundled into a single e-mail)
each of the following
a) an abstract of your doctoral dissertation (NOT master’s thesis)
(maximum of 10 double-spaced pages),
b) a personal statement about the scholarly or applied merit and
potential impact of the doctoral dissertation (maximum of 3
double-spaced pages),
c) your curriculum vitae, and
d) a letter of support from your doctoral dissertation supervisor.
Applications are due, via
e-mail, on May 21, 2009.
Applications should be e-mailed to
Avron Spiro
aspiro3@bu.edu
Please include "RRF Dissertation Award" in your subject header.
