Committee on Women in Psychology

Rosemary Blieszner, Division 20 Liaison

Older Women's Issues is one of the CWP's priorities. A survey of APA members aged 55 or older was conducted in November, to help with identifying areas for future attention. The Task Force on the Changing Gender Composition in Psychology has issued its report in the form of an extended case study and action plan, dated October, 1995. This 59-page booklet contains numerous tables and technical analysis along with specific suggestions for maintaining and enhancing the status of psychology and meeting society's needs. An "Interdisciplinary Conference on Psychological and Behavioral Factors in Women's Health: Research, Prevention, Treatment, and Service Delivery in Clinical and Community Settings" will be held in Washington, DC, Sept. 19-21, with continuing education workshops on Sept. 18. The CWP seeks nominations for Leadership Citations (Emerging Leaders and Distinguished Leaders), which are due June 3, 1996. Contact the Women's Programs Office at APA for information on any of these items.
